iSAMS Implementation
Nick was appointed in January 2020 to manage the implementation phase of the project, Nick successfully led a team that worked with two schools to join St Andrews Prep and Eastbourne College together into a single database. The project coincided with the beginning of the pandemic and required many changes to ensure that the ongoing delivery of education was not impacted whilst retaining progress on the project. Despite the challenges, the project was deemed an enormous success, transforming the system from two instances of WCBS Pass and a collection of older systems, held together with some bespoke development work to a SIngle Database version of iSAMS working across both schools.
The project contained the following steps.
Identify each school’s requirements and allow for their individuality
Create a self-service Admissions Process for each school that allows for transfers between the two schools
Design a data structure that allows for the required level of H&S Information
Restructure the project to cater for the emerging pandemic, and the altered priorities in the schools
Deliver the project remotely, but without compromise
Ensure that the staff had sufficient training and learning resources to take ownership of the system at go-live
